What we collect, why we need it, and what organizers control.

What DishLegacy collects

Organizers provide a name, email address, family or group name, cookbook details, and optional cover content. Contributors provide the recipe, their displayed name, family context, and any photo they choose to upload.

DishLegacy also records limited technical information needed to prevent abuse, operate private links, and measure whether a first-party campaign led to a cookbook start or purchase. Campaign reporting uses privacy-safe visitor hashes and aggregate funnel counts rather than building advertising profiles.

How the information is used

The information exists to create, operate, secure, and support the family cookbook; process a chosen purchase; and understand which DishLegacy outreach helps real organizers. DishLegacy does not sell recipes, stories, photos, or family contact information for advertising.

Who can see a cookbook

• The organizer uses a private management link that is separate from all family links.
• Anyone with the unlisted contribution link can submit, so organizers should share it only with people they trust.
• After purchase, an organizer can enable a separate family-reading link and revoke it at any time.
• Contribution, management, and family-reading pages are kept out of search-engine indexing.

Storage and payments

Cookbook records are stored in DishLegacy’s Cloudflare database, and uploaded photos are stored in Cloudflare object storage. A purchase is handled through Stripe. DishLegacy receives payment status and transaction identifiers needed to unlock the cookbook and handle refunds or disputes; DishLegacy does not store card numbers.

Organizer controls and deletion

Organizers can pause contributions, remove individual recipes, replace organizer or family-reading links, and delete the cookbook. Deleting a cookbook removes its recipes, uploaded photos, print requests, and personal organizer and family content from the active product.

Minimal transaction records tied to a completed purchase may remain where needed for payment disputes, refunds, fraud prevention, tax, or accounting obligations.
